Hello again, Governor:
You don't NEED campaign contributions from the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. ( Anyway what happened to your pledge to self-finance your campaigns?)
What you DO need is lots of Democratic and independent voters. And this is the way to get them. As many polls, most notably a recent Harris Poll show, 75% of Americans support universal healthcare, even if they had to pay more taxes for it.
With the bully pulpit that comes with being governor, you could counteract any propaganda that comes out from the insurance industry… because you would have the truth on your side. And what are the rightwingers going to do, vote for Angelides?
