Sept. 4, 2006
Hello Governor:
California Über Alles, leading the way!
Item 1: California leads the way forward for the nation in stem-cell research, with a $150 million loan authorized by Governor Schwarzenegger one day after deeply unpopular President Bush vetoed stem-cell research federally!
Item 2: California, distancing itself from know-nothing national Republicans in taking global warming seriously, again shows the way forward to the nation with legislation reducing greenhouse gases, passed by the Democratic legislature and signed by bold maverick Governor Schwarzenegger!
Item 3: California again makes history, breaking the stranglehold insurance and pharmaceutical companies have over our healthcare, by passing the universal single-payer healthcare bill SB840, signed in a dramatic ceremony by heroic Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger!
By the way, congratulations on those first two correct and wise decisions: you will find that your new friends are better and smarter people than your old ones. So, no Girly Man picture today:
See, a bold handsome Governor Schwarzenegger leading the Golden State forward as we in turn lead this benighted land out of the Dark Ages. California Über Alles!
Sincerely,
Vern Nelson, (714) 235-VERN
